April 3, 2024 Jozini Local Municipality is pleased to announce the successful launch of Operation Valingozi, which was aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of all road users during the Easter holiday season. The launch event, held on March 27, 2024, at the Jozini Taxi Rank, saw Deputy Mayor Ms. NR Zulu, representing Mayor Cllr Mfananaye Mathe, address the public and emphasize the municipality’s dedication to promoting road safety.

During the launch, Deputy Mayor Ms. NR Zulu reiterated the importance of responsible driving behavior and urged citizens to comply with the rules of the road to prevent accidents and safeguard lives. With the Easter holidays approaching and an expected increase in travel, it was imperative that all road users prioritized safety.
In partnership with the local taxi association, Operation Valingozi sought to raise awareness of road safety regulations and foster a culture of compliance among drivers and passengers. Representatives from the taxi association also spoke during the launch, emphasizing the significance of collaboration between drivers, passengers, and authorities to ensure a safe travel environment.
Following the launch event, law enforcement agencies commenced operations, conducting thorough searches and engaging with road users to reinforce adherence to road safety practices. The municipality remained committed to enhancing safety measures and promoting responsible behavior on our roads.
