Jozini has a comparative advantage in terms of its favorable location near the N2 and its abundant natural features, which are potential tourism assets.Tourism has been prioritized as the major economic development opportunity and its success is dependent on local community initiatives as well as the natural beauty of the surounding landscape.
There is inherent potential for tourism in the many cultural, natural and historical sites, among them Dingaan�s Grave and Border Cave (Historical), Lebombo Mountains, Mkuze and Ndumo Game Reserve, Hlathikhulu Forest and Usuthu Gorge (Natural) and Jozini Bridge as a man-made attraction.

The most recent launch in the Small Town Rehabilitation Project, took place in Jozini on Tuesday, 5 April 2011.
Tthe MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Ms Nomusa Dube, who delivered the keynote address, handed over a cheque to the value of R6,9 million to the Mayor of the Jozini Local Municipality, Cllr TP Madlopha-Mthethwa, for use in the development of the town. MEC Dube also officially opened a Thusong Service Centre in the town.
The launch is expected to contribute to the employment creation initiative of government, and was joyfully welcomed by the local community.
Local people will no longer have to travel long distances for simple services such as the acquisition of birth and death certificates or applications for state grants.
Dube said: "May 18 is the opportunity for you to elect your representatives, whose sole responsibility will be to service you. I hope that you will not elect lazy councillors"
